Just put the wrong filter on my Fit. Consequences?

I thought the same thing ... that the 14459 would have more media area because the can's volume seems larger. But cutting both open and actually measuring the media told the real story. Like any filter, you really can't make solid conclusions about it by just looking at the outside can.

A few other members here (sayjac for one) have also done the measurements on each and have come up with the same numbers and conclusion.
 
I searched and found some of the old threads on measuring the media on the 14610 and the 14459--still hard to believe. I'll have to cut open a 14459 I have and take a look. Did anyone ever figure out why the 14610 is 99.9% at 40 microns vs. 40 microns for most of the other PureOnes?

Fixed it for you. No ... still a mystery.
