just ordered HPL Euro 0W-30

can't wait to get my HPL Euro 504/507 rated oil shipped next week.
i've read that HPL oils contain a nice amount of AN and Esters that are great at cleaning deposits and all the filth in engines.
should i do a short 5K mile OCI with filter change in between for the first run or take it to a 10k OCI and not worry about it in my Toyota 2GR engine, what say you?

i like playing with viscosities i guess. i could have gone with the 5w30 but said: "maybe it has more group 4 in the 0W"

i've run everything from rotella 10w30, pennzoil sae 30 monograde and mobil 0W-20 EP in this engine and she's run fine. can't wait to see what nastyness this oil picks up. saw Randys posts and was sold.

Again… why wouldn’t you just ask HPL about the differences between the 0w and 5w? Mixing a 0W and a 5w of the same weight oil will not “play with the viscosities” since each oil molecule will still perform in cold weather as it does in a fully-homogenous sumpful. There’s several threads that cover this.

Not knowing anything about your engine's history including how many miles are on it, or the prior OCI's, maintenance history, etc. no one is going to be able to give you an answer. I agree with @Titan. Call HPL give them the info about your vehicle and get the answer straight from them.

Having a long drain interval is the primary feature of euro spec oils. If you've been good with your maintenance already and the filter is able to go the distance then go 10k miles.

Oil is cheap. If you had to go dialysis, you wouldn't skip a week bc you want to be lazy, oil is an engines blood. 5k is plenty long with GDI engines.
