I haven't been too surprised by much since I try and make a habit of reading the owners manual of our cars when they're new, but there have been a few "Easter eggs" - for example, I figured out that our Toyotas will ignore the rest of the auto-off headlamp feature (that is, turn off immediately rather than waiting for the 30-second timeout) if they're double-locked. Their washer fluid lights also illuminate when the reservoirs hold a full gallon of fluid, eliminating the need to store jugs (more helpful for those without a garage). And the Camry's armrest slides forward and backward, though that's a bit more obvious (although it's a feature that I don't remember seeing in the manual). Finally, if you pause a song on Bluetooth/USB connections, then increase/decrease the volume, it'll play from where you were. Nothing too big here, but still interesting.

Great find. At least you're not going to take everything out of the glove compartment in search of that tiny little pen. (y)

I had my cutlass ciera for like a year with the seat too reclined for my liking. I then found the power recline switch on the forward edge of the lower cushion.

I thought it was just saggy. Nothing else on that seat was power adjustable.

Bought new in 2004 a chevy cavalier. 7 months ago I inspected a holed rocker and picked out a 5/8 combination wrench.....,so that was the noise we looked for and could never find.

I found out a little plastic piece that is just a blank in the dash where you could add something had been gone since I got the truck. I could of swore it was there so I accused someone of taking it after they drove my truck and then I looked at the pictures from when I first got it and realized it’s been gone the whole time 😂. Going to search the junkyard for one now cause it bothers the heck out of me that it’s gone lol.

My new Jaguar has a pen clip in the glovebox like the one odie showed. I keep a small notebook in the glovebox to document maintenance and it has an elastic loop for a pen, so I stuck one of those rubber tipped styluses in the clip to use on the touchscreen when I need to type in a lot of information like a new address for the navigation. It keeps the fingerprints down to a minimum.

Innovation  + :geek: . Maybe you could present that to a auto manufacturer and get a cut of the green 🤑 . 🏦

See 2nd from top. Probably a perfect fit for a box of Trojans.

I found a USB port in my glove box last week, in a 2015 Silverado I've owned since new.
Played CDs before it was discovered . Now it's rarely used . There's also a AUX input and hook up a portable cassette player on occasion . Use earphone out and adjust sound level with volume knob .
