We watch Tom Skilling from Chicago's WGN on cable TV to decipher our forecasts here in TN. His maps are great.

Most local weather folks here are just as useless. They almost always spout the usual NOAA forecast details anyway so why spend all the $$ on the weather "team"?

and what's with weathermen/gals who can't say the word "cold" correctly? Many of them pronounce is "code".

I think this problem alone should be a tip-off to the managers who interview these folks for the weatherman position. But I digress...

They are not hired for their skills, they are hired for their "personally".

Very few REAL weatherpersons. A lot of people who read tel-prompters. (They could be our next President since that seems to be a "skill" needed

The drought ended here about five years ago.

Our weather has regressed about thirty years.

The map above ^^^^ is way off the mark for here.

Another storm on the way for Tues/Wed. LOL

Gary how much did you guy's end up with?

About 28" here.

I didn't see the official number for Pottstown, but it was about 20". I shoveled Friday night/Sat AM ..in the morning it looked the same as my neighbor's side walk. I just had a couple of mounds that he didn't.

Isn't it considered cheating if they look out their window?

Useless is the perfect word for them in Miami.

I remember in the news a few years ago weathermen in Russia were actually being assaulted in the streets for giving such bad forecasts...I am surprised that has not happened in Miami with all the nut jobs down here.

Nasty feedback isn't alien to the Philly crowd. I recall one time when Hurricane Schwartz blew it. I actually think he called for a snow storm that didn't show. He looked like he had a reception committee waiting for him in the parking lot while doing his broadcast.

So in addition to the 29" that just fell, we are in for 1-2ft more this tues/wed. Unbelievable!
