And, of course, one of the requirements:

12) Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

It is really quite amazing just how many poorly written job ads are placed. Tony's is the exception - and he is honest about the pay! Most ads don't mention the zero pay part.

Yeah pitzel that must be a USA company - 116+ years very specific experience in ultramicroelectronics with C++++++++ programing and espresso making with toilet maintenance, but under 25 and willing to work salaried 90 hours/week at $8/hour!

We had a job posting at my company with the following listed in this order:

...Must be detail oriented. Split shifts.

But it didn't say "shifts". In fact it could not have been a worse typo.

Hmm, that must have been the transport truck driving job. Detailed oriented would be "double clutching" the "split shifts"

...yep.

I think Sales Engineers jobs are the worst for pay. I saw one that required 10 years experience, a copy of your university transcript, and a P.Eng required to earn 40K CDN. A junior engineer starts out at 45K.

After 3 years in the military you get 60K a year and a month of paid vacaction!

The most common error I see in job postings is the amount of experience required. There is typically 2 different places that experience requirements are shown and they are usually different or do not appear to reflect the responsibility of the position.

A lot of the sales engineers I've known were engineers that for one reason or the other didn't make it in their field of engineering. Sometimes lack of ability, sometimes lack of interest in doing real engineering. Some were bitter about their job, others were glad they got into a more touchy feely people oriented position.

LOL! I can give about 8 years experience with Win2K as the beta was available on the Alpha platform back in '97. But most hiring managers would be hard pressed to find anyone with more Win2K experience.
