Jatco CVT with a chain

I had a 2001 Ford Explorer with 4 speed auto that lasted 200k miles commuting, city traffic (rust got to brake lines). I also had a 2001 Mercury Sable with 4 speed auto that lasted 180k miles (totaled by teen driver).
However I did keep the maintenance for heavy usage (drain and refill schedule 40-60k miles), unlike many people that think that "reliable" means "no maintenance" whatsoever.

I'm paranoid enough that I've done 4 drain and fill cycles on my 2019 Pathfinder's CVT. The first two were right after I bought it in 2019 as an ex-rental w/ 24K miles on it and the last one I did was at ~44K miles. I'm just shy of 50K miles on it today. I have no idea if this is going to prevent problems, but I can't see where it would hurt other than the pocket book a bit. I've been mail-ordering Nissan NS-3 fluid when I can find it for around $10/qt shipped.

I had two company leased Windstars. Both had transmission failures. One had 9K on t adthe other had 36K on it. The company switched to Dodge/Chrysler minivans in 2004 and never another transmission problem. They had some lousy transmissions. Both got replaced with Made in Mexico units in the Fords and the problems ended.
