You aren't getting my point...either M1 or Amsoil is just as likely to successfully get to 25k miles.
Amsoil sell it as the 25k oil, and clearly win customers because of it...how moany of these people GO 25k (in 1 year).
When I spoke to Mobil Oz about 0W40 in my 4Runner they stated that 12 months...3,000 miles, 25,000 miles would be fine...remember this oil STARTS at 35,000km with Merc and BMW.
If your driving style is such that you can DO the 25,000 miles in a year, then the oil gets an easy ride...if it's 3,000 miles of stop/start...that's what it does too...and that's how Merc/BMW treat their OCI.
e.g. my diesel COlorado, when I got it had 4,300km on it, and had used 65% of it's oil life...would have been done at a bit over 6,000km (far short of the 15,000km service interval)...I drove it my way, and got to 10,500kmbefore htting zero. THis OCI, I'm at 14,000km, and 11% remaining...should be 15,500km
That's what I'm stating, and AMSOIL is relying on with their 25,000 mile offer.
Nearly nobody is a candidate for achieving that...and I'll stand by my statement that Mobil 1 is equal in it's ability to get there.
WRT to your TBN...were you a candidate for 25,000 miles in 12 months ?

The Amsoil was 1.8 TBN, the M1 3.3...
No, you are not getting mine. I actually used M1 in a vehicle averaging over 30,000 miles a year (158,000 in 5 years to be exact) as opposed to jerking down some information gathered off the internet. I stand by my statement--based upon my
actual use, I do not think that M1 can make 25,000 miles on an OCI. To further clarify, my miles were heavy towing and highway, which according to your post above are easy miles. Ergo, if M1 cannot make 25,000 miles on the highway, how in the world would it ever be able to do it in the city?
