Ever since I was 6 years old (1970) the 1969 Camaro Z/28 with the RS/SS package has been my dream car. I would get my dad's CAR CRAFT and HOT ROD magazines and look at all of the parts ads and write down on paper what I would buy to make it just MINE!1969 I turned 16 I had a dream before my birthday that my parents bought me a 1969 Z28 [my dream car] The dream seemed so real that when I woke up I ran to the garage to see my new Z28. Nope no Z28 in the garage. Life is tough.

From what I have read, if the Z/28 was ordered with the RS package the SS package was added, but came with BOTH Z/28 and RS badges.You mean Z/28 with the RS package? I don't believe Z/28's were available with both RS & SS packages.
While the Z/28-RS was a great looking car, The "DZ" 302 was a dog a lower revs.
Those were nick named ICE CUBE TRAYS.When I was in 10th grade an upperclassman had a black SS 396. I always thought it looked cool with the chrome? hood grills. Supposedly it was "the fastest car in the parking lot". I don't know. I do know I didn't have anything for him with my 307 (at the time) powered Nova.
My dad had a 65 and a 67, both hardtops. Not at the same time though. I prefer the 67. It just looks meaner.My first car was a 67 GTO convertible in cherry apple red with a black top...fully loaded but it required a bit of mechanical work.
Short on cash I learned how to do it all myself... I didn't enjoy removing the AC compressor to change one of the spark plugs though![]()
I saw a 67 427/435 HP Vette sell at BARRETT-JACKSON for $300K a couple of weeks ago at Palm Beach, FL.I sold this mint old restoration 65 vette 2 years ago and glad i did. Was a 327 350hp with a powerglide trans. All stock just rebuilt motor and trans that were numbers matching whish is a whole rabbit hole in itself LOL Theyve dropped in prices what ive seen at classic car auctions and couldnt be happier.
Those old cars if they're stock are pieces of crap. I spent a month trying to find a capacitor to make my turn signal work, finally had to buy one from a stereo store LOL
the only old cars that bring any money anymore are the restomods with a modern drivetrain. those 60's musclecars are getting so old they reaching model T status in the 35 year olds mind whos looking to buy a fast car to joyride. This old junk just appeals to old men
I also had a 65 big block vette that needed complete restoration which i unloaded. That buyer said flatout hed restomod it with a modern vette engine and sell the old big block
I'm sorry, it sold for $385K. And, in 2014.Barrett jackson just fantasy...the seller probably put 290k into restoring it LOL
