I'd say that's a good decision. At best case you'll never feel good about it if you use it. Worst case it comes apart and a piece blocks an oil passage.
Stick with reputable companies like FCPEuro, local parts stores or even RockAuto. The online marketplace gamble has become a losing bet when it comes to product authenticity. If you’re like me, wasting my time on potentially counterfeit products just isn’t worth it. Hope you get your refund quickly.

Imagine installing it and during the entire OCI wondering if it’s a knock off filter?
For peace of mind, that alone, I wouldn’t use it.
Return it and purchase from a legitimate supplier……..

looks good to me, I never buy online unless it Rockauto. This filter I would not be afraid to use.
The other online retailers @edyvw posted a few posts ago are also solid. I’ve personally used FCPEuro several times.
Far as I can tell, yes I think it is the real thing. I buy the 816z "kit" which comes with a replacement plastic drain plug. Just installed in my BMW 328i F30 this fall. Admittedly it looked a bit different in that the packaging color was a little faded compared to previously. I think the printer at the carton manufacturer allowed the green ink to run low. Have about 2,500 miles on it so far without any issues.
Took me all of 30 seconds to look at images online. Perhaps ask Mann? Oh wait... You can.
