Def not a honeybee. I don't kill the pollinators. Wasps and hornets, 100% dead.Im I wrong but neither that bug or that car is a "real" Hornet? One looks like a honeybee ( don't kill it ) and one looks like a crap SUV that arrived as the HEMI went away ( KILL IT )...
I thought it was a cicada killer at first too but I think it's a hornet of some type. This is a Hornet:

But seriously, looks like a cicada killer wasp. The red markings and legs are the giveaway.

My brother and I when were young thought it was a good idea to catch them at a local baseball field. They were in the ground. I found out years later they were cicada killers and don't bother humans. They are huge. Maybe the biggest of them all other than the murder hornet.Looks like European Hornet to me. I have a good number of Cicada killer wasp around our place that are similar looking. They burrow holes in the ground kill huge cicada's and drag them down their holes into the nest. Crazy stuff.
Apparently only the females have stingers, and the males are totally harmless, but are still huge and will buzz around rather agressivly if you're around their hole.My brother and I when were young thought it was a good idea to catch them at a local baseball field.
