Is the glassparency windshield coating still a consideration in 2025?

Im out of mine, and was wondering if this is still the best route to go or if there is a newer better product.

I use Aquapel on front windshield and Rain-X on sides and rear. If I'm doing a trip and Aquapel is getting worn I'll top it with Rain-x on windshield.

I need to give my windshield on the Accord a good clean and polish as there are many little sand/rock chips that reduce the effectiveness and add glare.

How much does the glassparency treatment cost? Looks like you need to go to an authorized "trained" dealer to have it done. Just like ceramic and graphene coatings, I don't see that happening for a long time in my future unless I hit lotto.

Sadly if buying now I'd probably get from Aquapel itself or the PGW site. Check some local glass shops they might be able to order or have. In the past I ordered a box from an autosupply place. I don't recall where now. I did get some Amazon fake stuff at one point. I wouldn't even consider a China distributor.

Bump to this, but Aquapel.com seems to have nothing in my area despite being in the same state. PGW Auto Glass Buysite is a good one. I have a side-business that's registered I do for motorcycle side work. Sent an inquiry about getting an account. If they ask I'll say it's for some detailing work and a customer suggested it. Would really like to try the Aquapel as the Rain-X only seems to last for a few weeks which is frustrating.

Bump back - my kids got me some Aquapel for Fathers day. It's fake. They got it from Walmart.com with lots of good reviews. I had concerns with the last ones from Amazon prior so I tried a "new" one.

I used it Saturday on daughter-in-laws Tucson, now I need to get whatever it is back off before he drives to VA. Of course it's pouring rain currently. This applicator smelled like Ronson lighter fluid and was very oily. I should have stopped then and just cleaned it. My son used wipers after about 24 hours and it smeared and left a horrible line where wipers stop. Very frustrating.

I just emailed the rep from PGW that said they should be back in stock in July to see about getting some.

In the meantime, Project Farm, Pan the organizer and Detailing Dogma really like Glaco Ultra from Soft99. All the stuff is written in Japanese but I'm OK with that. They also list a Glaco DX and a crazy hydrophobic Glaco Zero Mirror Coat Zero for mirrors and back up camera. Spray and leave, no wipe but not for windshields.

I tried that a couple times. It was OK but I liked Aquapel (the real stuff) better. Rain-X still is the quickest, easiest and works just doesn't last that long but to do before a trip or tune up what's on there it's excellent. I use the Rain-X on sides and rear since no wiper wear.

I'll need to check my FlyBy30 again especially since this fake Aquapel just killed me. I just need some break from downpour, waiting to go outside and at least clean that junk off.

I like the FlyBy30 because it seems to accept more product when it starts to fade. It also doesn't affect wiper functionality.

I have used other ceramic products and the wipers either skip or leave a film/fog when wiping or when the product fades and you re-apply it doesn't seem to bond correctly and fails quickly.

And polishing glass SUCKS.

I got a kick out of the scanning electron micrograph they show of a glass surface. I've looked at glass under the SEM and it looks nothing like that. It is smooth at high magnifications. In fact, I would have to sprinkle some powder on the surface so I'd have something to focus on during examination.
