Is oil good after 3 years of extreme temperature cycling?

I read that heat in storage can affect the lifespan of new motor oil. I have 1qt bottles in the back of my cars some are now 2 and 3 years old, exposed to extreme hot and cold for all this time. Should I replace it, or is it still good enough to top off a car?

you should be able to use it,as long if sealed from factory, and shake up a bit at room temperature.
Shaking it up at room temperature isn't always an option on the side of the road if my oil was suddenly low. So should I just buy 2 new supertech bottles for $10 and use the oil in the cars for lubricating tools?

They are perfectly fine to use. A shake before use is helpful (no matter the temp if needed) if they aren't subjected to the vibrations of a moving vehicle's trunk or whatnot. The temps they are exposed to is not extreme at all considering it's not at engine temp areas.

Oil gets up to in excess of 200f in your engine all the time. A few months or years in the trunk of your car won't do much to harm it.
It's already passed that few years, which is why I was questioning replacing it.

I wouldn’t worry. It’s virgin oil that’s seen some hot or cold days (and it probably already saw these temperatures while it was shipped via semi truck or rail).

I would be very suspect if I were you. Why not send them to me, I will check them out and let you know...;)

I believe some car brands even came/come with an extra quart in the trunk at purchase. You'll be fine.

I've got Maxlife from 2005 (when the Cars movie came out) that's still fine. The bottles are sealed-- what's getting in or out?

Oil is cheap I replace my oil at least yearly.
