Is it okay?

Just returned from Canadian tire with 10 quarts of Red Line 5w30,old stash that they had on the shelf,they do no longer carry Red Line products. I bought it for 6,99 a quart, Canada.
I have been using,Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 in the summer,and 5w20 Pennzoil Platinum in the 4 winter months. Would it be okay to mix 1 quart of Red Line 5W30 with 5 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum 520 in the winter months. This way the Red line would keep me going for a few years. I only put around 5.000 miles on my truck in the 4 winter months.

The Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20 doesn't need any help.

Hi Silver Yes I know PP does not need any help. I thought it would just be a little more protection ,because most of my trips in the winter do not allow for a complete warm ups. Besides the Red Line was 4.00 cheaper than a quat of PP.

p.s I can always use it in my snowblower,lawn tractor, and lawn mower.

If PP is more expensive then Redline in Canada, why not mix Redline 5W30 with Pennzoil Platinum 5w20 in summer ? Redline 5W30 HTHS is much higher than Pennzoil Platinum 5w30.

Red Line is more expensive than PP in Canada. Canadian tire had these quarts on sale just to get .rid of them. I bought 3 jugs of 5w20 and 5 jugs of 5w30 PP a few weeks ago,both 5 quart jugs.
My engine takes 6 quarts. Walmart hear now charges 10.00 for a quart bottle of pp.Ive seen a few places in Canada where they charge 16.00 for a quart of Red Line.

So I guess you haven't tried it? Adding just one or two quarts of Red Line to several engines has resulted in far faster cleaning than any other synthetic that I've ever used.

completely different base stocks and add packs. i wouldnt mix them.

imagine if the fill was 100% redline. i bet one 10k oci would clean the heck out of it
