Is high mileage synthetic oil really worth it?

What you do define as premium?

Id think any EP-grade oil on the shelf would qualify as would any oil with group 4 or 5 content.

The point is a little bit of an increase in seal conditioning to compensate for aging seals. You can achieve high miles through a premium oil but that doesn't eliminate seals from aging over time.

This exact thing has been done. Never really caught on. I believe it’s still available if ordered online at Walmart. In fact if I remember correctly it was a Walmart exclusive. Great oil.
