Is GL4 specifically recommended by ANYONE?

My Mitsubishi AWD requires the GL-4 in the transfer case and transmission and GL-5 in the rear end. I have a 50-50 mix of Redline MT-90 and MTL in the front and 75W90 in rear.

I tried the Amsoil, the RedLine 50-50 mix shifts easier when cold.

Mike,
I've never understood why the AGT comes in 1 GA MINIMUM? Why can't they simply put it in a quart bottle? It just couldn't be that hard.

The ALU is not a GL4, it's a GL4/5 'combo'.

Quite some time back I noticed they offer another GL4 product that is marketed as a 'marine' lubricant for the lower units of outboards.

Spector,
Any ideas why the GL4 in the transfer case?

My info shows the ALU as GL4, no mention of GL5 and this is the Marine Gear Lube.

I searched all over for the Pennzoil Synthetic 75W-90 GL-4 and found two people in the LA area that carry it, but not for resale, Van Nuys Nissan, The Pit Stop in City of Industry. The Pit Stop was only willing to sell to me for $17.99 a quart!

Needless to say I am buying my $8.99 a quart Redline MT-90 from my local dealer (Dirty Parts).

Too bad, I sure would have liked to stay with Pennzoil since I am i love with their other products.

Try "Harbor Parts" in Long Beach. They have a good GL-4/GL-5. It's Chevron Delo Gear. Contains no Sulphur, which is the ingredient that GL-4 specific gearboxes object to. At least, no more Sulphur than a pure GL-4. It uses Borate EP additive technology. Problem is, it only comes in 5-gallon buckets. Thirty plus greenbacks, if I'm not mistaken.
