I thought I heard that this is no longer being produced and that's why everyone was stocking up. I would like to start using it in my wife's tundra. I found 6 bottles at AZ covered in dust but since I need 7 I didn't bother buying them.
thank you

I'm sure it's still being made. I live in the greater Toronto area, and can buy GC at WalMart, Partsource, and Canadian Tire. All of them are major retailers.

I suspect GC sells better in Canada--with our cold winters an 0W-30 oil is a good thing.

I think this is an interesting question. Has anyone seen a bottle of GC with a M07XXX date code yet? If yes then it is clearly still being made..if not then I think the writing is on the wall..

I've seen M063 I think. I'm usually looking for green so I haven't been committing to memory.

Syntec 0W30 is still pictured on the Castrol website (looks like GC), and all of my local retailers have lots of stock and are regularly restocked.

Anyone know what is a decent top up oil with GC that is OTC? I am a half quart low and can't fond GC anywhere. Suggestions? I was thinking of tossing some M1 15-50 in for the #@$%! of it.

I have purchased 32 quarts this week at my two local AZs. I only found two greens. Several were in the Katrina bottles and the latest was 2005. Now I just hope my 2006 Tundra likes it.

To all those hunting down those elves, I found one that may be willing to share to us GCHeads...I'm planning to purchase 20-40 cases a week from this distributor. Please let me know if we would have a great amount of demand to be able to handle this?

0w oils will always be made because they in many parts of the world are simply superior. But good luck getting any US automakers to get off the 5w oils. 0 means "nothing" in many minds.....so a lot of guys in Motown will never spec a "nothing w 30" oil. Believe me I have spoken to many people about this.

I think this is probably the most important question in regards to the future of this great product. Some of the '06 bottles I bought last year were only a couple months old. Hopefully some '07 produced bottles will show up somewhere (perhaps Canada). With Castrol being a sponsor here, I'm surprised they don't have any "official" representation - it would be great if someone could give us a little insight.

I suppose there are three likely scenarios: 1) GC will continue to be produced and sold, but AZ won't be stocking it, 2) All stock of the product are being depleted and will be replaced with another similar formula (group III anyone?), or 3) They will no longer produce or import it to North America.

Short of any announcement from Castrol, we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out. Fortunately my stash should last at least 18 months so the verdict should be in by then...
