I was looking at the cSt #s and I see that the syntec blend not the full syntec is a little thicker than gtx in 5w30. Are these oil very close to the same or is the syntec blend better? Also the 5w30 syntec blend says it meets ACEA A1. Anyone know what that is?

Just do a google search, you'll find it

I used to bash syn-blend oils as a waste and insist that people pick a side (dino or full-syn). However, I have now changed and believe syn-blends to be the proverbial golden egg of motor oils & gear oils. I think they give the best of both worlds and often still at a cheaper price than full-syn if you don't count the 5qt deals at wally world (which is hard to do)...but anyway, I think I'd use the syn-blend if it was a fair price because I think it give you the characteristics of both oils.
