Hi,

Found an European oil, in MSDS it showed lots of "1-decene, trimer, hydrogenated", 50%-70%.

view

is "1-decene, trimer, hydrogenated" PAO?

If yes, does that mean this oil contain 50%-70% PAO?? (too good to be true?)

Less guilt over buying "fake" synthetic or not be harassed by others …

Pao have good pour point. And LL04 and LL01 in the 0w-30 or 0w-40 needs some pao to gain the approval.

group III fake synthetic is good, PAO + Ester base oils are better!! "just the facts mam" of course its the complete product, but better base oils are just BETTER requiring less additives to prop up the specs of Group III's + lesser groups + as oils get used additives get used up + most additives do not lubricate

a quick search shows NO USA distributors + a big IF would the USA get the same blend? read where oils imported to usa do NOT have to be real synthetic group IV + V as in germany!!

MEGUIN is the Oil company owned by Liqui Moly since 2006, where all Liqui Moly oils are produced. They produced the oils for Liqui Moly long before the Merge of the Companys.

There is (allmost) no doubt that the oils are identical, but Meguin is about 50% cheaper here in Germany.

ChristianReske,
Many thanks for the detailed information.
MEGUIN put MSDS in their web site, but not RAVENOL.

Currently I am using RAVENOL VMP 5W-30 but I'm really curious about how many % group 4 (PAO) used in VMP 5W-30?

Do you happen to know it on Germany oil forum or it must be > 50% PAO to be stated as a "vollsynthetisches" oil in Germany?

It's good to know

The 80% PAO oil sounds like an idea choice to me, thanks!

Interesting - I have never seen it written like that before (the 80% thing), can you provide a source?

i always wonder IF german made imported to USA are the same as oils consumed in Germany, or is a cheaper blend using group III base oils used for export

Not a law, but a court ruling.

Looks very good, contains a lot of PAO.

The calcium (3469mg) in this VOA seems to be a relatively high quantity...
But I don't have the knowledge info it's too high or normal
Would it be a concern for LSPI issue?
