I have a traditional IRA my question is, could I roll the assets into my employers plan sponsored 457(b)?

Both the traditional IRA along with the 457(b) are before tax dollars. is this doable?

thanks.

I was always taught not to mix them while still contributing. If you remove them when retired in one place maybe. Most employer plans that I know don't allow outside funds to be added and co-mingled.

I am not planning on leaving my employer anytime soon its a quasi state entity with state retirement as well as a generously matched deferred compensation program.

I would talk to someone who actually works in the department overseeing that fund. As they will have and be able to give specifics to your situation that we can't.
