I'm looking for portable speakers for my Iphone. Good sound is a priority. I also need it to be powered by AC, DC, and battery if possible. I'd like to stay around $100, but I'll pay more if it's worth it. Suggestions?

I bought this last year...

I don't use it with an iPhone, but it does have an iPhone dock. Sound quality is very good, although it does sound more powerful when running on AC and not on the rechargeable battery.

I too bought the Logitech S715i that Quatro did. Bought it for my daughter. She loves it. I think it sounds great. Be aware you can't dock a newer iphone on it, so don't plan on using it for charging. You can however use the 3.5mm input jack to play music from an iphone 5. It's big enough to sound great yet small enough to easily fit in a backpack to take on the road with you. It's also highly rated on Cnet I believe. You can't do better for under $100 IMO.

I just bought the Samsung bluetooth. Very good sound, very portable. about $150 on amazon.

The speaker can be anywhere within bluetooth range.

Uses Bluetooth and has a standard aux-in so it is compatible with basically everything. There is a version with a smaller battery called the Flip, if you want to save a few bucks.

Everywhere I take it, people are very impressed and come to ask me about it.

I bought one of these for my daughter recently. I want one for myself now. Very nice sound for the size.

Thanks for all of the info. It looks like none of the speakers listed above have the option of being DC powered. Any experience with DC powered speakers?
