The wifey's iPhone 3G has been fritzy lately. Don't know what's up. She just started using it as an iPod recently and noticed that afterward, she couldn't dial out without restarting.
Second, she's noticed that lately on FB she gets a weird set of chracters on some people's status updates. It's something to the effect of a:0:{}. Apple support tried to tell her that was some sort of common web abbreviation but I can't find a thing by googling it. I just wanted to make sure she doesn't have some sort of virus. I updated her software this weekend and that didn't help with the FB issue. Neither did installing the latest version. Anywho, just wanted to see if anyone had seen this.

Facebook had a recent update of their core services, ever since then, the FB app will crash often.

Both the wife & I see this problem with our iPhones. FB needs to fix whatever they broke with the last system update.

Good to know. Any experience with the iPod issue? I don't know if it's done it since I updated the software this weekend. But it was [censored] last week while I was out of town on business when that crazy storm blew through town. Getting in touch the whole week was hit or miss.

Oh yeah, that too. Dialing out doesn't always work. gotta reset the phone. We should have kept 3.1 and not updated to 3.11/3.12. 3.1 seemed to work fine.

wow a phone that doesnt dial out? how the heck did apple manage that :P

they should put that on the mac vs pc commercial

:)

I have the Blackberry, so I know this doesn't apply exactly but ever since I uninstalled all the extra language support (i.e. Bulgarian, Russian, German) I see these characters you describe whenever somebody tries to post something 'cute' by using characters not included in the English set.
