IOS 18.5 messed up my RCS

after updating to 18.5 on my iphone , group chats with folks that include an android device has not worked . Can do individual to the android users though . been messing with all the fixes listed online and nothing has worked .

Any of you encountered this issue?

when I group text Android the group text is sms when I individually text Android it goes through as rcs

well I stand corrected... my android group text is now rcs

want to disclose up front that i have no idea what this will do but did you try settings / general / reset / reset network settings?

i have no idea if that would revert some settings to an unwanted default, or worse erase a manual setting

That means at least one member of the group chat still runs an OS, be it Android or iOS, that doesn't support RCS. It could be their phone carrier but I believe they all support RCS by now.

I know my reply was kinda late, but in case others ran across the same thing and found this thread....

i had to do a tech session with T mobile to try to figure out what the issue was. after a couple of days with rcs off i turned it back on a it worked right away .

Not sure if they fixed it or it fixed itself
