Energy and SQQQ is what I mainly focus on.
I wouldn't be shorting anything right now. The trend is up.
Do you remember "Koainn" the trader here that was always predicting the Market ? Well he's no longer here......probably due to embarrassment. :D

Name looks familiar but I don’t remember any of his postings.

Ultimately it comes down to the level of risk someone is willing to take.
I made some money in TSLS, an inverse Tesla ETF. This is NOT a recommendation.

I’m closely following the trucking industry as a bellwether as to what’s going to happen next year. I listen to folks with an education from University of Kenworth, Peterbilt and Freightliner at Flying J. When long haul truckers crisscrossing the USA say the economy is slowing down….. my ears start percolating like a coffee pot.

Now huge META layoffs

Blame Musk or an ex president?
Pablo,

I have wondered if the making of massive "soft" money will ever end in high tech. Software/ application firms have been money printing machines for nearly 20 years. The public does not accept these transactions in any other business practices, that it does in the software/ application firms.

Yesterday a BITOG moderator posted anger at Amazon, for wanting him to pay a monthly subscription to music he has already purchased. Most of the world does not accept deals like a monthly subscription to music. Maybe Americans will change.... but I would be surprised.

I took an Uber home from SEATAC last night. I was waiting as the Uber drive pulled up. I received a message from Uber I didn't recall receiving before" If you don't meet your driver in two minutes- you will be charged more fees". I get being charged a waiting fee, but a two-minute window at the airport- heck, it can take more than two minutes just to find the driver at the airport.

These software/ application firms, often oligopolies, have our credit card numbers they can tack on extra charges with zero human interaction- maybe these times are winding down. Who knows.

The Nasdaq is down 34% this yr and the trend is lower. It peaked in Nov. of 21. Its 52 wk low occurred recently. Its below its 1 yr 200dma & 50dma. The people shorting it have been making a killing.

The S&P 500 is down 21% this yr and the trend is lower. It peaked at the start of this yr. Its 52 wk low occurred less than a month ago. Its below its 1 yr 200dma & 50dma. The people shorting it have been making a killing.

The DJI is down 13% this yr and the trend is lower. It peaked at the start of this yr. Its 52 week low was 5 wks ago. Its bounced back up above its 50dma and is near its 200dma.

The market likes gridlock so if this election flips the house and/or senate I believe we "could" get a short term bullish trend.

The only sector that's up this year is oil & gas.

Tesla hits 52 week low, great company that needs to drop much further.

Same for Apple and Amazon, both very good companies that need to drop further.

I have some cash set aside for these 3 companies.

DH,

Thanks for posting this. Earlier this morning I saw Bitcoin taking a big hit- in direct contrast to the stock market. This explains why BTC is down 11 percent today.

But shed no tears for Sam Bankman-Fried. He is about 30 years old, living in the Bahama's, is a billionaire, and became a billionaire with these digital currency games. I don't see anywhere that Sam Bankman-Fried added any new invention to society or anything else of true value.

Kind of like how some people made millions by coming up with the "pet rock" and similar stuff. 😄
