No layoffs there.

Amazon knows they can hire Indians at a fraction of the costs of American workers.

Sad but true. 🙁

Daily Job Cuts . Com

Off Toipc:

When I have problems with my work laptop, desktop, software application, security issue, etc…

I put in an IT service ticket and 10 minutes later ‘Bobbi’ from India calls me and gives me a security code to enter so he can take over and access my computer to make necessary changes / updates.

25 years ago it was Bob from Milwaukee, Wisconsin helping me.
20 years ago it was Roberto from Mexico City, Mexico helping me.

About 15 years ago corporate outsourced most IT functions to India.

Who’s the lowest bidder for help desk type services ?
Can they also manage corporate servers from India ?

If any youth are looking for an income and claim, they can’t find one after four years of college then they did not make a very good choice on what they thought they were going to do.

So now is the time for them to get with reality, whether they like it or not. The medical industry, all things medical and all departments radiology as an example, nursing nurse practitioners is desperate for employees. The trades such as electricians plumbers contractors are desperate for employees.
Automobile manufacturing aircraft manufacturing

It’s easy to make a good living in the United States, but some people don’t want to get their hands dirty and went to college in a cloud thinking everything was going to magically happen easily.

META down 85 points today. I thought I was going to play the market and sell before the earnings came out and then pick up after the dip.
I think a lot, but I don’t do … lol

So well anyway, so goes life temporarily. I’ll probably have it. Sit there and wait another three months now.

It's called Capitalism. The big difference is the digital age has shrunk the world; worker pool is that much bigger.
I was up against a huge onslaught of off shore and VISA programmers.

I figured the result was the same my job was taken by someone across the street of someone half way around the world.
Of course now I am up against AI, so there's that. What's a poor boy to do?

What are doctors and paralegals going to retrain for when AI replaces them?
I don’t see robots or Ai taking medical or legal jobs. Their lobbies will prevent replacement by robots.
Ai provide powerful tools for everyone and increase accuracy and productivity. After all an MD / DO will likely be the only professional that can operate a robotic surgeon and take over manually if needed.

Remember the longshoreman’s union who went on strike? IIRC one of their gripes was automation.

Despite numerous ports around the world with robotic container trucks etc, there will be successful blockages for a while.

Oh absolutely, surgeons are safe. There was a case in the UK maybe a decade ago where they were doing some sort of heart surgery with a surgeon guiding a robotic arm, and the surgeon hadn't even practiced using the thing ahead. They killed the patient. Set that idea back 20 years at least.

I am talking about the 80% of doctors who just listen to your symptoms and prescribe something or order some tests. Some will stay, but they will be expected to be far more efficient. Google has already shown there AI is better at diagnosing rashes than doctors (verified via study). Only a matter of time.

And yes, the longshoreman wanted no automation for 20 years or something like that. So its sometime between now and 20 years.

Motion control is really hard if its not repetitive. If you use your hands whether its a screwdriver or scalpel, your probably in good shape. If you move paper around a building, you better be learning how to use a screwdriver or scalpel.

Radiology might be one as far as greatly reduced staff. It will certainly be more exacting reading all kind of scans. With that said, I agree with you on the medical side of things.
AS of right now, you can even get a hold of your own scan and submit it to an AI firm for AI to review it.

I think ( I know too much) the legal side could be greatly affected as far as office staff and researchers. AI you would think will be able to do those functions at lightening speed with a smaller staff.

I was looking for a new victim this morning and did two flips in under 5 minutes for spending cash.
I left more shares behind to possibly score in the long run.
