Interstate or Diehard

Super Start from O'Reilly worked nicely in my Jeep Grand Cherokee (under passenger seat like yours). It was right around $180.
Yep. My friends' '15 Altima's battery had seen better days. O'Reilly tested it and declared it shot. $189 or something. The counter guy said, our batteries are expensive... Drove a few blocks to Costco and paid half as much. Works for me.

AGM batteries are just more expensive. I know they don't have it online, but if they sell it at a store, the 94R H7 AGM battery at Costco will be in that similar price/range (when I priced out for my Jeep -- same as the MB ML350 battery -- the Interstate AGM was $215).

I can by Federated Auto parts and get a East Penn battery for $99.... 2 yr free replacement warranty. Same battery at O Reilly's is $150.

And a group 24f East Penn battery from Federated Auto parts is around $127 3 yr free replacement. Same battery is $180 from O Reilly's.

Same battery different sticker.

Heck Agrisupply has East Penn group 24f batteries for $72. 18 month free replacement warranty from East Penn.

I just had my Diehard Gold die on me. I purchased it back in November 2005. I had gone to Japan for 3 weeks and upon return (Jan 12 2025), I got (3) key turns/cranks and that was it. It served me well.

Wow!!! Almost 20 years. Did it sit all that time on a battery tender or something?
Not at all. I had pulled it only 1 time a few months ago and put on a digital charger I have but that was the only time. Only check and added distilled water from time to time. Bought it in Costa Mesa, Ca. (Sears) but moved about 6 months later to Seattle area back in early 2006. I had it all those years in my 1972 VW Westy (pic in Av profile).

Amazing!

Costco Interstate batteries are specifically engineered to standards set forth by Costco. Only Costco can warranty their batteries. Go to an Interstate store and engage the manager in the topic. Having said that, I would go with Interstate...
Sounds like Costco Gray market watches. My sister sold jewelry for many years at Helzberg. Apparently if you bought a name brand watch from Costco only Costco could/would repair it.

I have the same battery in a 09 Lexus ES350 which was purchased in 8/2017. Still working and great battery. Have u Batteryminder desulphanted it over the years?

Over the years I have had good luck with Wal Mart Maxx.....Plus they are all over the place too...Never had to return one for being bad...

I need a new battery for my 15 MB ML350. It takes a Grp 49 H8 AGM battery. Both Diehard and Interstate have this battery. Which one would you get and why?
I would prefer the heavier battery. 43 pounds, vs say, 46 pounds, I would prefer the 46 pound. Light, thin plates are a recipe for "Cold cranking amps", but are not so important as they were, because permanent magnet gear reduction starters (modern type) and synthetic oil, have greatly lowered the load required to spin a cold motor. Thick heavy lead plates last longer, being resistant to damage and warping from heat, vibration and impact. I suggest you read any reviews you can find from folks who bought the batteries you are considering. In the end, it may be luck of the draw.
