Interstate or Diehard

I need a new battery for my 15 MB ML350. It takes a Grp 49 H8 AGM battery. Both Diehard and Interstate have this battery. Which one would you get and why?

They might even be the same battery, so get which one costs less. Interstate isn't what it used to be.

Get something made by East Penn/Deka. Napa's house brand batteries are Deka, and I think O'Reilly is, too.

I like Costco Interstate. Great warrantee and no questions asked.

Costco Interstate batteries are specifically engineered to standards set forth by Costco. Only Costco can warranty their batteries. Go to an Interstate store and engage the manager in the topic. Having said that, I would go with Interstate...

Interstate for me. Never had a problem with them. The battery in my truck is doing great it’s 7 years old the one in our van is 14 years old doing great. Now they are the only batteries I buy.

I really think it's just luck of the draw. I'm headed to Costco tonight to pick up one of their Interstate batteries. 3 year replacement warranty, no prorate.

I would get an East Penn. Walmart if your WM has EP batteries or NAPA.

Interstate are mostly Clarios. (Old JCI). But can be Exide depending on the group size. Read their website.

Not sure how much experience BITOG members have with batteries made by Clarios especially since they have move production to various countries.

But any manufacturer is better than an Exide.

Odyssey is big-time... But legit.

X-2 at Batteries Plus is a Northstar tppl AGM which is on par with Odyssey. Big money but a five year free replacement warranty though.

Out of curiosity I looked at Costco website for a group 65 AGM. Not available....Of course; if money is not a concern Odyssey battery is my go to..as aforementioned....

both same warranty...3yrs replacement. Interstate Costco is $178 and Diehard is $220 and they say they will install. Where do I find a Penn/Deka battery? I know Odyssey is a great battery but expensive. I tend to keep my batteries on a tender if I am not driving them.

Everstart is a great battery and so is interstate if you don't do battery maintenance.

Sam’s Club batteries are Duracell made n USA by. East Penn. Three year free replacement warranty. I have switched away from the Costco Interstate to the Sam’s Club batteries on all my vehicles.

If it was 7 years old-it wasn't the East Penn Die Hard they used to make-it's JC/Clarios overpriced junk now.

FWIW- my costco went 11 1/2 years and I only replaced it bc wife got paranoid about an 11 1/2 yo old battery in her car

Id get the Diehard just because its a Diehard. I know that Sears is dead and buried but I love that Diehard is back.
