Internet connectivity issues with Win 10

I could really use some advice here.

I have a 2 year old Dell laptop with 8 GB RAM. It came with Windows 8.1 and I recently upgraded to Windows 10. During the install process, it said my Symantec Endpoint Protection program had to be uninstalled. I uninstalled it and after Windows 10 installed, I installed Bitdefender Total Security 2015.

The issue I'm having is that my Wi-Fi icon will tell me that I'm connected to the internet but nothing happens. I get the "Page will not load" error message. My Outlook cannot connect to download email.

I have tried switching off the antenna (Fn + F2) and when I switch it back on, it will work for 5 minutes before the connection dies (yet the icon still shows I'm connected). The switching on and off will work a couple of times before I have to reboot the computer.

I have also noticed that my internet connection drops off when I have Windows updates pending. After I reboot, the Wi-Fi reconnects for about 10 minutes.

It works fine with a LAN connection. I have no idea if it's Windows 10 or Bitdefender.

Any thoughts out there?

Reset TCP/IP. Use the command line. Should be the same for Windows 10.

It is a new OS and If you suspect it may be bitdefender then uninstall it and see if it gets better. you'll have an answer.

Do a search for win10 security there are some things you may want to disable. ...here is but one.

Disable WUDO (BitTorrent updates) entirely or limit its reach by changing settings in Windows 10.
From "Settings," users can click the "Update & security" icon, then the "Advanced options" link under "Windows Update." In the ensuing window, click on "Choose how updates are delivered" to turn off WUDO by moving the slider to Off. To leave it on, but restrict sending locally cached updates and apps only to devices on the same local network, select "PCs on my local network" near the bottom.

Look for newer WiFi driver on Dell's website.

FWIW, I have had no problems with my Win10 installations.

Thanks all. I think it is Bitdefender.

I tried the resets and it didn't help. So I turned off Bitdefender and it was like opening a door. My email downloaded and I could access the internet. It must be in the settings somewhere but I had it on "AutoPilot".

I've installed Eset Nod32. So far, so good.

Bitdefender has been buggy for years and years.
