I'm removing a bunch of trash from a friend's computer and I need to get online for a few of the programs I've added to update.

My PC is connected to the net by Verizon Wireless. No wi/fi, no routers, nothing. I'd have to uninstall my software and transfer to his temporarily and back again- not what consider to be a good time.

Is there any way, like say through ether net or usb I can connect his to mine for net access?

Is the verizon wireless connected via ethernet or USB/Cardbus/ExpressCard?

If he has 2 ethernet port on his machine, it is easy, just use internet connection sharing.

If it is via ethernet and your friend's computer only has 1 ethernet port, you might need to use a router or add another ethernet port (via USB, PCI, or other ways) to his machine and setup internet connection sharing (assuming he is using windows).

Yes, it (Verizon) is connected via USB. O/S is XP home on both machines.

Both our puters only have one ether net port...

EDIT: Got it! It took an ether net cable and the XP set up wizard did all the work, once I remembered to enable the LAN.

Thank you for your input though!
