Interesting comparison between LEV and EV

Plug in hybrids are in the market, and they are more sophisticated than charging the battery from gas. Some are extremely economical on gas. Many people use only a few gals per year. 60-70 mpg using the combination gas and electric on some models is not unheard of. Cheaper than electric charging at a station on a highway.
To me plug in hybrid is the best solution for most people on earth. Most EVs today are oversized in batteries for range anxiety, and plug in hybrid actually works better for most.

For the record, today the average cost of electricity has increased 100% since 2003, adjusted for inflation. Gasoline has increased about 30%. Increased electrical consumption without additional inexpensive generation infrastructure will drive that even higher.
Gas was less than $1 where I live for most of the 1990s. It's three times as much as that now. Pick a point in time which maximizes your argument, I guess...

My electricity costs around 10 cents a KWH. I don't know what it was in the 90s.

Mine including all takes is 17cents a kWh. My base rate is 14 cents. With the $3 a gallon gas we still have here, it's 3x as much to buy gas than drive my Y or 3. People need to move goal posts to meet their argument though.

$3 per gallon? That's the holy grail! $4.80 is cheapie stations around here...
So I use that big nuclear reactor up in the sky.
