Interested in German Castrol

I am suddenly very intrigued with GC and I am trying to compare it to what my current choice was, ML Full Syn. The 100C cSt is 12.1 vs 11.7 of the ML. But I do not like how Castrol's PDS is set up. What is the 40C cSt? Is it 66.8? How is the additive package in the GC? Obviously its very durable being PAO.

I'd hit up the VOA/UOA sections to see how the oil performs. I do know its a very thick oil compared to others in that range and it has a nice add pack. I'll see if I can find the VOA with the info you need.

Like every other oil it depends on the app. I thinnk its one of the best values for the money with regard to ingredients. Ive had and most here would probably agree the results of use are quite satisfactory.

Pretty darn stout. Great for moderate to severe service and extended drain intervals.

If your car requires an SM oil for catalyst compatibility or has excessive fuel dilution, you might want to look elsewhere. Otherwise, as long as it's a street-driven car that needs a 30-weight, GC is a great choice.

GC is one of the most durable oils you can get your hands on.

It's a 1990 Thunderbird Super Coupe. Supercharged 3.8L V6. It has around 101k miles. It's spec'd for 5w30, and being supercharged and an older engine design, I believe the engine would prefer a thicker oil. GC looks to have a very nice cold viscosity and is also a pretty thick 30 weight when hot. I believe it requires SJ oil. =P
