I just sprayed my Suburban door hinges with GM Super Lube. It’s their recommended spray for door hinges. On GM truck hinges there is a rotating sleeve on a pin. In the winter, road grime gets in there and the sleeve stops rotating. Your door will continue to work but the wear will be accelerated. A good shot of lube will free it up.

Kano Labs Super Lube is what I was going to order just this week. Another option that sounded ideal was 3M Spray Lube which is discontinued. Is the GM stuff just repackaged Super Lube? Does it run down the doors? Go on clear? Your help would be very much appreciated. Our supplier recommended Kleen Flo #742 as an alternative, but I'm not so sure. I need something for battery terminals, door locks, hinges, latches and sunroof tracks. Further, I would prefer something that will not run and goes on clear. Did I say that already?

Gear oil or chainsaw bar & chain oil in a squeeze bottle with a spout. Very cheap and extremely effective.

Wurth HHS-K, great grease that applies as a thin bodied liquid that sets up and is also compatible with the automotive plastics used in some hinge bushings.

I've used it forever.... Started using it after Honda dealers kept applying it to door hinges, moon roof tracks, etc to our cars.

I think it’s re-packaged Super Lube. It’s pretty thin but you can wipe it off easily. It’s clear. GM has recommended this stuff for over 20 years and is listed in my Burb’s owners manual. It sounds perfect for the usage you require.

Been using white lithium grease for years now. No problems with hinges. Yeah, it's a bit messy, but works well.

Good reminder! I use Fluid Film because I'm usually spraying it year round anyway. But it attracts a lot of dirt, so I have to wash it out regularly too.

I would be concerned with wet films that attract dirt and dust, accelerating wear

At one point, early on, we would lube door and hood hinges and hood latch as
part of the "Full Service Oil Change"
We used a spray on lubricant from Zep.

Lanolin like Surface Shield works even better.

I use Tri Flow aerosol lube on the door hinges. Only thing that worked and lasted on my old Tahoe's power running board hinges with winter exposure.

Look at fuel door flap. It may have hinges that need some lube. I have a a 1994 Camry where the fuel door flap did not open smoothly. I opened it anyway. Fuel door fell off. I tossed it under the car I was so pissed. I eventually got the fuel door. Lubed the cheap wire hinge and glued the fuel door flap back onto the hinge assembly. Lasted until I sold the car.
