Improving Fram Filters

Depending on the model, they can do a better job on the threads IMO. My diesel garden tractors can use the 7317, but I’ve gone to WIX on the last few changes because the threads were so bad. WIX is so expensive nowadays, I might as well buy Kubota filters.

The 3980 my Blazer and C1500 take has been fine thread wise.
 
Better quality threads. They should have a design like the Purolators. Endocarps for sure on their lower end filters
 
What would kaizen do to improve on the design of their filters?

Over all, always striving for improvement. The wired backed synthetic media was clutch and the way to go and stay. They went with the design they have now which is not popular but "gets" the job done.

Continuous learning is another aspect, in this case, come to these **** forums and learn what oil heads want. Do primary and secondary market research as well, striving to be the best.

The same way Toyota & Honda handed the Big Three their lunch with small cars in the '70s & '80s! They were perfecting Camrys, Corollas, Civics, & Accords... They were building Pintos, Vegas, and K-cars!
