So licensing is now set for exactly a year from May 1st. I wonder if some brands will come out a few months earlier with, "recommended for GF-6" or "meets GF-6", like some did with SN Plus.
I'm still not stuck on having a different logo as an option for the 0w-16. More symbols aren't the answer to any confusion that exists. If you read the manual and buy the correct grade and certification, you're good to go. The only people who are going to pay any attention to differing symbols are the people here reading about it. What's an ordinary consumer supposed to do if they see a 0w-16 with the Starburst alongside a 0w-16 with the shield? Flip a coin? Head for the hills? Go to the dealer? Go to Jiffy Lube?
