Crude is up $3.75 and gasoline is up $.21 on the NYMEX. All in anticipation of the hurricane.

Why bother. Get used to it.

I am driving 5 mph under the speed limit now where ever I go. My MPG in my Toyota 4Runner is soaring! From now on I am driving like grandma! When are we going to get hydrogen fuel cars?

You would probably be better off driving less miles than trying to squeeze every mpg out of that tank.

It's 11:00 pm, I just went out and filled the Tbird up with Exxon 89 oct. $2.65/gal at the Campbell Univ. gas station

Tomorrow might be worse...then I can be happy about going out now...

I have a favorite gas station that doesn't change its price until 7 or 8 am.

It's quarter of five and I'm on my way to work, stopping there.

Yea..and everyone going out just to buy gas will cost a couple of million more gallons of gas=demand/prices go up more. I remember during the Oil "Embargo" folks spent their time running around in their car looking for gas

I remember in particular one woman after filling up managed to get in another gas line and was able to put something like 20 cents in.

People get paniced and go nuts. I just broke out my 18 speed Mountain Bike. Its got new tires and I'm good for another thousand miles on it.

May as well wait until the tulip mania is over.

Yes the easy oil is tapering off. Yes there is a temporary storm. Yes it's rediculous that gas already refined and in the station tank should go increase in price. La-ti-dah.........don't be a 70's idiot and fill the tank every time you are down a gallon. What does that help? It *******' wastes fuel!

I'm not saying we will go back to $1 gallon, but certainly $2/gallon is not permanently behind us.

Gas is already $1.129 cents per liter here. I'm willing to bet it'll go up 3 or 4 cents per liter by the end of the week. Looks like I'll be reducing my cruising speed. My usual speed on the highway is 110 km/h. I'll cut it down to 100 km/h. It'll save a bit of fuel plus be easier on my engine.

55,

I'm with you on the reduced cruising speed. For the past two weeks, I've reduced my cruising speed on the freeway from 70-75 mph down to 60-65 mph. I've also kept myself from revving the engine past 3500 rpm. My gas mileage on my last tank went up 3 mpg, from 27 mpg to 30.

Well, I lost $2 today by not gassing up at $2.74 in the morning when I took the kid to school. It was up to $2.89 when I picked him up.
On the bright side, I save $1.30 by filling the tank then and not after I did some afterschool shopping. It was up to $2.99 an hour later.
