If Pennzoil is one of the best, why is it so cheap

I didn't say it's THE best, I said one of the best. And I base that on the number of people in this forum who use it and report how well it cleans an engine.

I should have mentioned too, I'm only interested in dino oil for now so comparing this to Amsoil is like apples and oranges I know. I'm only talking about dino oil... sorry for not mentioning that.

It tends to be a decent value based on price. For the longest time it was not much more than conventional. Would you buy it @ $5.99-$6.99/quart? Probably not, but most likely you're not looking for $6-$7/quart product anyway. ..but for $4+/- ?? Sure, you'll use it.

Umm PP is better than M1 is most tests of today. Don't even try to say M1 is the best or 2nd place. LOL!

I personally stopped using M1 when they changed their formulation many years ago for the worse.

It does.
The test sequence allows the cam to be completely worn through the nitriding at 4 mils deep average. That is a shot cam. Its a worthless wear spec. Now when they allow SL was on the down slide for EP AW add. What we get with GF4 is improved basestocks.

There is no comparison to a good HDEO cj4 v. any 5w-30 SM/GF4 for std interval OC. The HDEO are in another class - and the only thing suitable for near-severe service IMO.

Well, you should know. Are you part of SWRI's field testing unit?
