This is why every car sold should come with automatic headlights with DRLs. I have them on both my cars and it's a blessing. Taking the human element out of that equation is definitely a good thing.

VDOT paints a dashed line from the center of the two left turn lanes to the left-most dashed line on the street they're turning onto.

So if you are in the left-most left turn lane, you are supposed to turn into the left-most lane.

If you are in the right-most left turn lane and the street you're turning onto has three lanes, you can choose either the middle or far right lane.

The dashed lines in the middle of the intersection seem to work.
