Playing defense attorney with the information that we currently know and nothing has him in the house other than a knife sheath as far as they let us know at this point in time.
Just finding that knife sheath with his DNA laying on the bed with the two dead girls is huge. Plus, there might be other DNA hits of his from the crime scene that we don't know about yet. The affidavit isn't going to go into more details about DNA, that's left for trial evidence IMO. All the cell phone tracking records and how it all correlates to this crime is also huge. And if they can find evidence that he purchased that kind of knife via computer forensics, etc then that's just more layers of evidence. Or maybe that knife was from his dad's house, maybe his dad's at one time - ?. With all that kind of evidence, it doesn't have to be proven that he was seen in the house, even though one roommate did see a person who fit his description. Just the DNA evidence itself, especially if any victim DNA is found in his car or apartment, is enough for a conviction. DNA is super hard to refute unless it's a sham trial like OJ's, which will not happen in this trial IMO.

Yes I think posted much posted the same as you or at least this is the way I meant it to sound.
We don’t know what other evidence they may have or develop before trial.
I am hoping they find some DNA evidence from the victims someplace in his possessions, car, apt, home in Pennsylvania someplace, somewhere.
Right now the only concrete thing they have disclosed is a knife sheath at the scene that may be explained away to create doubt in a jury mind.
Agree again about the car, but where is the DNA solid evidence that he was at that house from this disgusting crime of 4 people stabbed, that is a lot of blood. A defense would be how would it be possible none was found on him or his possessions and where is the murder weapon that was stolen from his car? (As an excuse)
They need more and they most likely will get it if they don’t already have it but there is more to this story, and what about the words “redacted” on those pages?
Why 8 hours before anyone called police.
Thus really is sounding like an OJ mystery but I have a feeling the police have way more than we know.
Maybe they don’t?
And what motive?

Like already said, all the cell phone and car whereabouts that correlate with the crime is huge and key. Who else would have his cell phone and car on the night of the crime? Why would he go WAY out of the way to go between Pullman and Moscow to their house on that night? And they have video of the white car going back to his place in Pullman after the crime occurred ... this is way more than plain "coincidences". Plus his phone tracking even showed he drove by the house the next day ... a typical thing killers do, go back to the scene for a look see. This was actually a local news station doing a video shoot the next day and a while car similar to his is seen driving by two times. This stuff can not be explained away IMO in any logical or sane way. Why would he be following the 2 or 3 girls on social media? Are those on-line posters explaining the crime scene details after the crime occurred actually him? ... computer forensics can find that out. BTW, those on-line posters have disappeared and have not posted one single thing since Kohlberger was arrested - hummm. From what I see so far, and there is probably much more we haven't seen so far, there will be a virtual mountain of correlating evidence that points directly to him ... wait and see during the trial. His defense will look ridiculous IMO because I see no sane way they can make up excuses for all the evidence the police have. BTW, the OJ trial was not a "mystery", it was a sham conducted by slick lawyers using you know what tactics.

^^^ all good I’m sure more facts will come out.
My only point is you need evidence, being around and following girls on social media isn’t a crime, being in the area isn’t a crime even while a crime is committed, you need proof beyond a reasonable doubt, he doesn’t have to explain anything. Prosecutors need to prove something.
Except for one item and it maybe the one item that is the key, the knife sheath.
Everything else is speculation at this point.
Never mind the fact that the roommate didn’t call the police for 7 hours while her friends were bleeding to death and she was face to face with the killer as he was leaving.

Police agencies know having a murder weapon is key or having the blood of any of the victims anyplace on his possessions as a back up is key if they don’t have the weapon…
What about even his own blood at the scene? Give me something! The police know it and working hard to get it.

I’m not defending this guy and said all I can so will end it here. All I’m saying is they do have a lot of so-called circumstantial evidence.
Where is the hard evidence and what is up with those roommates?

Great discussion btw

The suspect in this case is very well educated and seems to have an unusually calm demeanor. Not sure what this all means.
I was just saying that to my wife, he’s acting so normal or better said, presenting himself that way
Just one last thing because as we all know, I said a lot already, and I guess answers will come out at the time of trial.

I want to hear the explanation of how the roommates who lived there and were not attacked are involved in this. (i’m being facetious)
They heard the cries, the killer, with a mask and hood on looked at her, walked right past her, she watched him leave, she went back to her room, while the four people she lived with bled to death, and didn’t call the police for almost 8 hours.
To me, this is almost as controversial as the accused!

The actions of the surviving roommates is the least of the worries in this case - could be plenty of reasons they did what they did, already touched on that in another post. If Kohlberger and his lawyers can't logically explain away all the evidence the police have, then he's toast. If the defense says nothing, he's toast. Only way he can get off is if they can refute all the evidence the police/FBI have with their own actual facts. The police don't need the murder weapon, or a motive. Just a sheath with his DNA on it laying right next to two dead girls that matches a knife similar to one used in the crime and all the cell phone and car tracking would probably be enough for most jurors. But I'm betting there will be more supporting evidence retrieved from the car and his apartment and work office. I'm betting he will get the death penalty since there seems to be proof this was all premeditated for a long time ... wait and see. And what if DNA from the other two unsolved stabbing crimes matches his DNA ... I'm sure they are looking at that right now too.

^^^ so far to me all they have is
that knife sheath DNA thing. I don’t know if it can be explained.
I suspect they will have more though. Because it would be the only evidence he was in that house on that night. So far.

I would suspect the police are already looking into the roundabout way he drove home, allegedly after the murders. Maybe somewhere along that route is were a possible murder weapon was dumped.

I found it also interesting the FBI maybe wanted to know if he had cuts on his hands and why they had the state police pull him over two times to get photos of his hands. It doesn’t seem like any were found.

Actually, one of the pull over body cam videos looks like a possible healing wound on his right lower arm area just above the hand. I'm sure the police looked very closely for any signs of healing wounds on him after he was arrested. I'd say just what they divulged in the affidavit would probably be enough for a conviction if his defense can't explain it away, which IMO they never will be able to do in any logical or sane way. What I'm saying is it doesn't look good for him, and it will most likely look even worse as this unfolds more.

I agree, that's seriously weird as hell! I can't imagine the screams the victims belted out while being stabbed to death. There's no way in hell someone living in that house, hearing all that, could've thought it was normal, and just was like, "oh well", and went back to sleep.

Party house ... people who are drunk and partying yell out and scream sometimes. This didn't happen in a house where there was never people attending parties all the time and making noises late into the night. Anyone thinking the two surviving girls were involved are really grasping IMO.

It's also possible that the suspect didn't even see her if she was just looking through a cracked open door and staying still as he was leaving the house. Who knows how much light there was inside the house when all this was going on, and she could have had the lights off inside her bedroom while looking through a cracked bedroom door. If you saw the floor plan of the 2nd floor (it's posted all over the place), you could see how she might see him and he not see her.

But again, not only that, she acknowledged hearing the cries and response of the killer.
She acknowledged that he WALKED right by her with a mask covering his face and a hood, she saw him leave.
She acknowledged that she froze, was in shock,
She acknowledged then went back in her room, locked her door and did nothing until 7 or 8 hours later.
The police recording of the 911 call after those 7 or 8 hours says some one in the house was unconscious.

I’m sure all a good explanation of why will come out in the trail,

I live less than 2 miles from where the suspect lived on the WSU campus, I can tell you the community is relieved that a suspect has been arrested.

The witness description is a head-scratcher, but I've been thinking some of the same things. First, this is a house where Doordash deliveries at 4 a.m. apparently are not unusual. And it was 4 a.m. after a night of partying. Maybe the witness wanted to stay quiet for awhile before calling 911 but then fell back asleep/passed out. (Assumption on my part. I didn't go back to see what the document says about her activities earlier in the night.) The murders were also on higher floors and one of the victims was on Tik Tok around that time, so it's hard to say how things sounded.

I'm also not sure if the masked man actually saw the witness. If he did, I can't imagine he would have just left. If her door was only open a crack, it's reasonable to think he was so hyper-focused on getting out that he didn't notice her.

As many have said, we'll learn more about this as the trial progresses. I read or heard somewhere that the affidavit justifies the arrest, but doesn't necessarily reveal every bit of evidence.

In the public’s eye there is obviously no innocent until proven guilty. This thread is a clear evidence of that.
1st Amendment right to speculate. And the speculation is that what evidence we have all seen so far does not look good for the accused suspect. Simple as that.
