A waitress who is a friend of mine has a brother who operates an ice cream truck.

He needs a new three phases ice cream soft server. There are many of these available on the internet. They are VERY expensive.

He wants to buy his new one from a place where he can see it first, and make sure it operates. The store must be within a 500 mile radius of Los Angeles, CA.

Any help will be appreciated.

AHA! Finally something in MY area of expertise-make sure he gets a TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED machine-the Mister Softee trucks all run Electro Freeze-that's the way I would go. The Taylor, Stoelting, and Carpigiani machines are viscosity controlled-the voltage fluctuations from the generator will play havoc with the boards. Only Electro Freeze will work reliably without blowing boards.

You might want to contact these people. I know they do not meet your criteria for being nearby but they're a good place to do business and have been used by a friend that buys, rebuilds and then sells restaurants. They sell used equipment and there have been no complaints that he knows of.

Man... I could never drive an ice cream trunk. But I could park it in my back yard and eat a lot of ice cream.

Trust me-I work on them for a living-I've had people try to run the ones I work on in a truck, and the generator voltage fluctuates for whatever reason-bye bye circuit boards (expensive).

Electro Freeze IS THE BEST. IMO, it depends on your community. I would much rather operate a ice cream stand, than from a truck.

When I'm at China buffet, the machines are always broken.... they are Stoelting's.

I would run a Ice Cream stand, it is fairly low entry cost. The insurance would be lower, no vehicle maintainece, and you can make profit faster! Even the building would be cheaper than a truck!

Start small and provide a solid product for a good price, once you get clientele, a steady stream of income, you will be raking in the profit. Locate near an intersection, on a half acre, and maintain steady hours.

Here too. I think some of them use house paint and a brush for the paint jobs, only have pre packaged items.

I just want to point out it was less than 1 hour for a knowledgeable response to a question about ice cream mobile machines, on an oil enthusiast site.
