Done with Shell PLC. Since they want to partner with grifters I will take my dollars elsewhere.
I think I am done with Indy gas stations.

I mean, who carries around enough cash to fill up your gas tank with prices these days?
Yeah not sure why it took me so long but I just signed up for the rewards program with my usual suspects Shell / ExxonMobil / Chevron and they all offer discounts.

That credit card cash back thing was good while it lasted. I've always been a cash man so the two different prices don't bug me.
I have Shell, ExxonMobil, and Racetrac rewards. All come with decent discounts or rebates. We tend to use Shell the most.
The sign typically shows cash/debut price or sometimes toggles low and higher one .

There's one independent in town that I'll go to; a garage that's been operating since at least the fifties (longer, even, I think). The sketchy Citgo/BP/Mobil? Not a chance, for all the reasons mentioned.
Even the newest, 'cleanest' ones have two-day-old cold coffee, "Not for Resale" 16oz sodas and snacks bought from the grocery store and marked up 200% or more, and bathrooms that are for paying customers only yet have apparently never been cleaned. Oh, and if you do want to be a paying customer by credit card, there's a five dollar minimum.
They're getting decimated by Kwik Trip in my neck of the woods, although they're constantly trying to get local governments to prevent the competition.
