You should get it replaced if it needs it. A recall is not a ridiculous thing.

However, in the meantime, just make sure you (and anyone else who drives your truck) know how to drop your transmission into neutral, should the pedal stick.

you could swap an LS1 into it and that way if it takes off, you'd have alot more time to knock it out of gear or lay on the brakes and get it stopped again.

YHOOooo, my son bought a new 2008 Tundra TRD auto, 4x4 double cab with the big 5.7 or was it the 5.8 . That one fine truck indeed!!!! I drove it many times and I'm "smile'n" when I drive it......rides better than my 2003 Chevy Silverodooooo 4x4.....seems easier on gas too.
I changed oil in it a few times , not the easiest thing to do, but " gotter done". Used MOBIL 1 in it the first few oil changes.....now think he's gonna go PP.....both great oil's.
YES on the recall notice.....he was told they were going to "shave" some of the gas peddle off......he said the heck with that......does not seem like a fix to me either.
