i have a 2006 chevy colbalt 2.2l ecotec motor

started knocking, 186000 miles, dropped oil pan #1 rod bearing bad, motor looks like it was'nt oiling well. in the bottom of oil pan found a aluminum like disk about the size of a dime and a 1/4 (dia.) x 1/4(hight) light spring. have no ideal where it came from, thought it might be the oil bypass system but the pictures that i'v seen show a larger spring. any ideas or help would help

Weird. From the oil pump itself maybe? Not familiar with these engines but thats a real shame
