I hate TV

Tonight is one of those "heartwrenching" "operations on children" medical shows that are rife these days.

Saturation advertisement for the last 6 days is of a little girl with a facial defect that could finally be fixed, and age 5 or 6 or thereabouts.

Voiceover "Imagine how this little girl will feel when her parents tell her that she is beautiful for the very first time."

If she's 6, has a deformity, and her parents haven't told her she's beautiful every day of her life, they should be shot !!!

If it's just "heart wrenching" hype, the show deserves not to be watched (which it doesn't get anyway in this place)

Why do you watch that khrap? Watch Time Team, Cook and Chef, The Bill, Judge John Deed, Rebus, Rose & Maloney, Grand designs etc. There is no excuse to watch rubbish on FTA in Oz.

Don't worry, TV in the US is a wasteland as well. This medical show wasn't on FOX, was it?

I usually stick to watching sports, Food Network, and history/educational channels. I almost NEVER watch network TV.

Is Top Gear on cable? Funny that those who hate TV have cable, satellite TV etc.

I get only over the air broadcasting: that's nine channels and more than enough. Some TV shows can easily be watched online. Top Gear can be found on YOUtube. Once digital TV becomes mandatory I'll throw the box out.

I am one who does not even own a tv. Pretty rare to say the least, but I dont miss it at all. Instead I took up dancing, have travelled to 13 different coutries, jog and lift weights....people always complain about time, but a simple way to get more of it and enjoy life more is to kill your tv!

mori, nope don't have cable or satellite. They advertised "40 channels for $25/month)...I tried to negotiate 3 channels for $10, and they wouldn't come to the table.

Our TV is DVD player only - doesn't get any channels. I find the TV a highly-obnoxious noise-making in-yo-face intrusion. We canned it 6yrs ago and it's one our best 'home improvements.'

I resent paying the minimum cable fee for what we get. My wife is addicted to The Weather Channel. They keep trying to upgrade me to the $70/month digital ..but then they want to rent you a box for another $5 to see it. I keep telling them that I can't wait to ditch the thieving scum when FO gets in the neighborhood.

There's very little on television that entertains me. It's doing a poor job in the boredom killing business. I still see all my associates chomping at the bit to get the best package with all the premium channels. Same thing at the cell phone store ..at Best Buy ..etc.

I go cheap ..and I think I'm at $250/month for total communications/electronic entertainment costs (4 cell phones) ..maybe $300 (cable/dsl/land/cell).

I was paying $3 a month for Internet access, but had to upgrade to a more expensive ISP.

We have all of 4 channels,maybe a couple more if I got another aerial.I don't buy TV's - I have them because people give me old ones....when it blows up we have no TV until another one turns up.No way would I buy my way into that garbage!
