I saw this on the news this morning, and then checked online.
EV drivers struggle to keep batteries charged
There are report of people pushing their cars an others waiting hours to charge them. This is from CBS just to keep the FOX haters happy. Time to keep these things warm climates only, they are not even an alternative in cold climates.
The AAA study found that in 20-degree weather, the average driving range fell by 12% when the car’s heater was not used and the range fell by 41% when it was used.
People like saying this and repeating this.it's the "holier than thou" attitude that needs to be lost.
-12% at -20c is some EV manufacturer marketing bull. It's a lot more than 12% the only way they might have gotten a 12% range reduction is in stop and go traffic only.
You beat me to it, but I didn’t feel like getting out of bed this morning.I saw this on the news this morning, and then checked online.EV drivers struggle to keep batteries charged![]()
I was up at 0400 this morning. When my wife saw the news she had to share it with me. We've had colder weather here. You're right people will deny facts because of the source of the facts, even when they are facts. In any event those people on the news are getting an expensive lesson. EV's under the right conditions might be fine and dandy, it is way too early in the game to think they're a viable replacement for ICE vehicles, but the push is on, ready or not.You beat me to it, but I didn’t feel like getting out of bed this morning.
I wonder what the few promoters in here will try to do to justify more facts just like the Fox News thread. I posted a couple days ago.
Unbelievable how people can deny facts.
I cant help but to believe this is going to put a significant dent in future sales of electric vehicles. We may not notice it on paper, but let’s face it people who live in these cold areas are getting an education on how EV’s behave in the cold.
The cold wave isn’t even on the East Coast yet and will just be approaching the East Coast starting tomorrow with another cold wave coming in on top of that on Friday.
The lack of critical, thinking, in fact finding just amazes me, but the public got an education today and it will continue for the coming week.
This is a good thing before people start getting stranded and God forbid find themselves in some medical situation from dead batteries.
There’s nothing wrong with electric vehicles as long as you know the limitations compared to ice vehicles.
For most people in the front north, this would mean dependable gasoline primary vehicle for extreme weather
