EV drivers struggle to keep batteries charged

oh wait.. you mean we will have to provide fossil fuel powered generators for their "green" ev? the horror! lol.. I have no problem with EV's.. it's the "holier than thou" attitude that needs to be lost. Saving the planet? with cobalt and lithium mining? no plans of HOW to recycle those things?! ya.. ok..

I'll make a prediction.. once the new "salt" (sodium) based batteries get on the market, and the solid state panansonic/toyota are working on currently, that WILL change the market.. but until then.... well.. this article proves it.. ok cue the holier than thou attitudes.. in 3..2...1.. GO!

There are report of people pushing their cars an others waiting hours to charge them. This is from CBS just to keep the FOX haters happy. Time to keep these things warm climates only, they are not even an alternative in cold climates.

Yea I didn't want to link FOX, but I must confess my wife had them on this morning, and we both said at the same time, no EVs for us.

Consider the emissions to mine, produce, ship the batteries, and produce the electricity for these vehicles and compare that to regular vehicle’s emissions over a given average length of ownership. I know that study was done for hybrid vehicles early on and it didn’t look too enticing (hybrid vs regular) from an emissions perspective….

People like saying this and repeating this.
I don't doubt there are some who are like what you say. But there have to be a customer segments who just want to be new...or want a toy....or be 'first on the block.
Don't be so eager to mock your neighbor.

Remember to take time from your busy day to shine some of your all-knowing, fault-finding eye on the clowns who lie about these things to sell them.

The movie running in your head should have a bigger cast.

You beat me to it, but I didn’t feel like getting out of bed this morning.
I wonder what the few promoters in here will try to do to justify more facts just like the Fox News thread I posted a couple days ago.

Unbelievable how people can deny facts.
I cant help but to believe this is going to put a significant dent in future sales of electric vehicles. We may not notice it on paper, but let’s face it people who live in these cold areas are getting an education on how EV’s behave in the cold.

The cold wave isn’t even on the East Coast yet and will just be approaching the East Coast starting tomorrow with another cold wave coming in on top of that on Friday.

The lack of critical thinking from people denying this limitation just amazes me, but the public got an education today and it will continue for the coming week.
This is a good thing before people start getting stranded and God forbid find themselves in some medical situation from a dead battery.

There’s nothing wrong with electric vehicles as long as you know the limitations compared to ice vehicles.
For most people in the cold north, this would mean dependable gasoline primary vehicle for extreme weather.

And about that second cold wave coming to the Carolinas on Friday?
This weekend weather forecast is to have low temperatures in the upper teens in the Carolinas and much colder up the coast to Maine.
if you need to rely on an electric vehicle for long distance travel you should prepare and be aware of the limitations.

The lack of critical, thinking, in fact finding just amazes me, but the public got an education today and it will continue for the coming week.

I was up at 0400 this morning. When my wife saw the news she had to share it with me. We've had colder weather here. You're right people will deny facts because of the source of the facts, even when they are facts. In any event those people on the news are getting an expensive lesson. EV's under the right conditions might be fine and dandy, it is way too early in the game to think they're a viable replacement for ICE vehicles, but the push is on, ready or not.
