I bought way too much oil.

Not everybody has your budget...

Part of it too is the thrill of finding the great deal. Not always about the budget. Does not matter if you have $200,000 in the bank or $20.
Some buy too much of something they can't even use, so kind of ruins the "deal".

As said, everyone has their limit as to what too much is, yours sounds like anything extra is too much.

I follow the same strategy when buying produce. Your buddy Pop with whom you often share the same viewpoints was recently banned from here. Apparently he wasn't too smart to avoid the ban hammer.

I'm smarter than that........

Your right...the poster "CAR54" (on the first page of this thread) has a bigger budget for storing oil than I do-with all those 5 gallon jugs of Mobil One......

I don't "hoard" oil, but I sure go thru a lot of it. In both jugs and drums. I would have to take an entire truck load of oil to put myself in the category of "hoarding".

Yeah I agree with that point CKN. That collection of oil was crazy in its quantity. I have about 18 qts. Nothing compared to what that fella had. But hey, if someone likes to do that... Then go for it I guess.

9 was short actually 12 T4 engines from OPE to a couple autos so my stash is appropriate although I'm having difficulty using the W30 and W20 stock other than in the GF's Buick.

There have been quite a few "stash" threads over the years.

Every once in a while you have to pull them out and lay it on the table to see who wins.

I have a stash of about 37 or so oil filters. 20 of those can be used on 2 of my vehicles, 10 on my prius and the other 7 or so are left over from my last generation prius.

It has been done, a few times I believe. We get a lot of repeat threads, different titles and different wording.

I only have a small amount of oil, but am sitting on about a dozen Tokyo Roki "AA170" (end of long ID code) oil filters and also have one Mazda branded Tokyo Roki that seems to be a clone of the Subaru "AA160" can. Somebody was selling the former on Amazon for $3-4 each with a shipping charge that was exorbitant for a single filter but didn't go up much for larger orders, making the per can price very attractive in quantity.

Yes.
They are stored inside, more stable temps and humidity.

4 for the F150's ($14) 2 of which are not in the box.
1 for mom's car ($3).
The rest will fit the Scion and Mother-in-laws car ($20).
I actually just found that the PH2951 (MIL car, Chevy Tracker with the 2.5) is just a slightly fatter and shorter version (but same o-ring diameter) of the PH4386 size that fits the Scion.
The 2 Bosch D+ 3422 filters are the PH3600 size filters that are the longer version of the PH4386, I think they are too long for the MIL car.

I don't plan on stashing them anymore though.
Once these are gone, I will be using ST filters on my vehicles (so long as they remain Wix made), for family, probably ST as well, unless they go longer than they should, then they will get a Tough Guard.

Exactly. Even my wife understands that.
Everyone has hobbies, and hobbies cost money.

Me stashing oil and filters is cheaper than when I was in to building computers.
I still have unopened computer parts from 10 years ago that are almost worthless now, as well as used odds and ends that I should just throw away.
I probably have enough parts to build 2 fully functional computers that would do what 90% of the population needs it for, but nobody wants AM2+/DDR2 systems.

Heck, I just used some oil with a 2009 date code on it, so it still carries its value. Being SM oil, some might consider it a better oil than current SN oils.

I've added more and updated my stash, and made things more presentable as one poster suggested

And I've got my own little stash of filters.

I've added 2 5L jugs of Ultra Platinum as its currently on sale up here at Canadian Tire
