They're very well made. They also work well in other vehicles which use the same basic filter parameters.

Oil filters are not laboratory gear. Bypass oil pressures, for example, are given in a range (.e.g, 8-11 psi) because the parts are sheet metal, the springs often "clickers", and they sell for $5 or so each. The Hyundai filters have a M20 x 1.5, a bypass in the 11-14 psi range, and a 2.475 OD gasket. A design which meets those parameters and is not too long or too fat such that it interferes with something should work fine.

What triggered the TSB was complaints of a ticking or light knocking noise on cold starts when using some aftermarket oil filters, especially if using inappropriately heavy motor oil. I noted it myself, but it created no operating problem at all. The Hyundai/Kia filter with its coil spring bypass valve doesn't exhibit this issue. Fram, one of the brands that tended to do this, created a new part number 9688 replacing the 3593A specifically for Hyundai/Kia applications
The FRAMs match in every aspect, but internally the 9688 has a revised bypass valve.
Generally the major brand and the OEM filters all get the job done. If you're doing extended drain intervals there is some advantage to looking at premium filters with superior filter media. Engine damage from oil filters usually involves installation SNAFUs such as not tightening it correctly.
The Hyundai filters are well made, $5 a piece, and filter very well.
