I was wondering, this particualr sound all 500 series huskys make it. I removed my clutch and then carfully removed my starter, and the sound is still there. It is very normal and nothing seems to degrade or get worse, on even way worn saws. What is the metallic wrist pin / piston slap sound in these videos during idle?

Not sure I hear anything out of the ordinary. The videos sound like a Husky to me. I’ll throw on some headphones after I plow the driveway.

So you are right, that is my exact point, every single 500 series engine sounds exactly the same. There is a distinct metallic sound that never deteriorates with age. New out of box saws have it, dead tired ran over and drug thru the mud saws also have it. Not hearing it with echo or others. Was wondering what that sound is.

My Poulan Pro (owned by Husqvarna) has that same exact noise. My WAG is it’s just the clutch making noise.

IIRC so does my Husqvarna weed eater 🤔
