Their website should reflect that then.it's available, just only in 12x1 quart quantities.

euro only
I promise that it is available in whatever quantity you like.it's available, just only in 12x1 quart quantities.
Well, maybe it should, but spending a large amount of effort, to build a site that caters to less than 1% of your client base, isn’t exactly good business.
Not really invested here, I'm not complaining about that product page myself, just repeating what HPL has stated on this forum in the past (12x1qt only because of low demand), but it's 2026, I'm not calling a company to ask for a list of products in case they might offer something I can use. Custom stuff, sure, absolutely. If I want some diff life with no FM, I understand that's unusual and I should call/email.I promise that it is available in whatever quantity you like.
6 x 1 quart boxes. 12 x 1 quart boxes. Gallon jugs. 5 gallon pails. 55 gallon drums. 320 gallon totes.
But you have to pick up the phone and talk to a human, not look at a website.
You guys are used to consumer facing companies. Those that cater to the whims of individual buyers. This is a company that is focused on large fleet, racing teams, and other people who buy oil in very large quantities.
That website is built for people like you, who constitute less than 1% of their business. It’s a good website, but if you want something, pick up the phone and talk to a human being.
Their product line is extensive, and there are things that are not on the website.
I never claimed that PAO/Star oils "suffer from high traction heating." Obviously my re-read of my own postings is hardly neutral, but your characterization of my posting sure seems like a straw man to me.It is somewhat misrepresented in his post. Claiming PAO/Star Polymer oils suffer from high traction heating is incorrect. PAO is utilized specifically to minimize traction coefficients.

I think we can agree for sure that any traction differences are minor at most and not by themselves dispositive for oil selection in this context.
The Star polymer and PAO base of both the Euro/Supercar and Preminum Plus PCMO makes for a brute tough oil in extreme pressure or load conditions. The pressure/viscosity coefficients on these are steep and the film load capability is extreme. There's a minor traction penalty of course, so slightly higher traction heating
Look, if you can’t be bothered to pick up the phone, I am not going to do it for you.Not really invested here, I'm not complaining about that product page myself, just repeating what HPL has stated on this forum in the past (12x1qt only because of low demand), but it's 2026, I'm not calling a company to ask for a list of products in case they might offer something I can use. It sounds like you want to support HPL, or at least want people to order from them. If that's the case, can you list out some of these products that are not on the website?
It's actually a really good website if it's true that consumer sales are <1% of their revenue. Remarkable really. That website is built for people like you, who constitute less than 1% of their business. It’s a good website
When you do a phone order do they send you a payment link via email or do you give your cc info directly to her over the phone? I've always bought form the site/had what I needed in the quantity needed. I will need to actually call next time as I think I'm just going to order 3 qts of diff life oil. It's actually a really good website if it's true that consumer sales are <1% of their revenue. I also learned too late that Mary Jane will sell you whatever you want in whatever quantity you want if you call. I was looking for gear oil, and they only had it listed in cases online. Had already placed my Amsoil order though.
Look, if you can’t be bothered to pick up the phone, I am not going to do it for you.
So, you can order less than the min. 12 qt. of HPL oil when call them and pay over the phone?I will need to actually call next time as I think I'm just going to order 3 qts of diff life oil.
I’m only contrasting D1g2 against higher calcium API SN style packages as representative of the two veins of HPL’s PAO based products, because HPL generally has “euro” additive packages (higher calcium) or D1G2 (higher magnesium).I may be off beat here, but you’re recommending Dexos1 Gen 2 for this application, and I was curious about the reasoning. With Gen 3 available, it appears to be a more robust approval on paper. What are the differences, if you don't mind, between Gen 2 and Gen 3 that would make one more appropriate than the other in this case?
Thanks again for the thread, I’ve learned a lot from it.View attachment 322902
Actually 25 cSt is the viscosity at 40°C. The KV100 is 5 cSt.To me this just screams ester thickening. Something like esterex np451, which had a pour point of -60c while having a thick kv100 of 25cSt.
Thanks for the correction, Tom.Actually 25 cSt is the viscosity at 40°C. The KV100 is 5 cSt.
