HPL No-VII PCMO 5W-30 VOA

Here is the VOA results for HPL NoVII PCMO 5W-30, purchase of Feb 05 2024.

Low calcium, high magnesium, high molybdenum, & high Aluminum that might be showing up due to some additives? Hopefully, they'll give you some answers on that one. Looks good!

Good observation.

For GC you always inject a standard to calibrate the response and retention time when testing any sample.

Could be a method problem.

I had higher amounts of both Aluminum and Silicon in my UOA of the Euro No VII 5w-30. I'm wondering where this comes from, I thought it was something in my truck that would spike these 2 values suddenly vs the other UOA's I had run previously, but this VOA clearly shows both values high already already from the source.

The zinc and phosphorus seem low in this sample.
That much moly does make me tingle a little inside though.

That tracks with the answer that Dave at HPL gave me when I asked him about the " high" amount of aluminum in PPPCMO 5W-30 VOA that I had lab tested. He suggested for me to subtract that value from any UOA sample test results of the oil that is currently in use.
