I haven't had anything grow in my yard bedside moss. My veggie garden committed suicide years ago. The good thing about moss is, it's always green , and you never had have to mow it.,,
This year has been my best year ever in Central Iowa. I have 4- 4x8 beds and have way more food than we can quickly eat. Thankfully we have family over every Sunday to make up the veggies in different recipes.
Lettuces/Kale/Spinach all grew very well
Beets
Carrots
Potatoes
Cucumbers are going nuts
Zucchini is going crazy
Sweetcorn
Tomatoes- cherry and Big Boy- in a pause after a hot run of production.
Okra-Awesome!! Very tasty raw as a part of lunch
Beans
Peas
Jalapeño Peppers
Squash, however is not good. I have bugs that move in every year and hold back production, or kill the vines. I'll have 5 or so winter squashes this year. Only had 1 last year.
Its been going good, just finished some egg plant (from the garden) Parmesan for dinner. Plenty of tomatoes for canning and making fall/winter chilli with. Neighbor smoked some bacon wrapped jalapeños from our garden this past week.
